This Fourth of July, you’ll no doubt be invited to a picnic or get-together of some sort and asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Make things easy on yourself and keep it simple with White Chocolate and Sprinkle Covered Strawberries! No baking required, they can be made the night before, and you don’t have to be a pastry chef to decorate them!
…..
(makes 15-16 covered strawberries)
Ingredients:
4oz white chocolate baking bar*
15-16 fresh strawberries, rinsed and patted dry
Sugar or candy sprinkles
*Make sure you go for baking chocolate like Ghiradelli instead of white chocolate chips. You typically have to add shortening/oil to get white chocolate chips to have the same smooth texture as baking bars do.
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
Break white chocolate up into small pieces and add to a small saucepan. Heat over low heat and stir until completely melted and smooth.
Grab a strawberry by the top, dunk, and swirl in the white chocolate until it’s about 3/4 of the way coated. Allow a bit of the excess chocolate to drip off and then place on the prepared baking sheet.
Repeat with remaining strawberries. Dust with sprinkles and place in the refrigerator, uncovered, for 30 minutes for the chocolate to set up.
Serve right away or make the night before. Strawberries will keep for 3-4 days.
Enjoy!
