It’s been awhile since I’ve done a juice recipe for the blog and in keeping with my healthy theme this week, I decided to squeeze the life out of some fruits and veggies to bring you this post! Dark leafy greens like kale and spinach pack a punch of vitamins and nutrients when juiced, but by themselves they can be a little bitter and well, grassy tasting. The good news is that you can still get the health benefits, but disguise the less-than-appetizing taste with the sweetness of fresh fruit and ginger root like I did in this tropical inspired juice!
…..
(makes 1 glass)
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh spinach
3 large leaves of kale, including stems
1 inch hunk of ginger root
1 Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped
1 ½ cups fresh pineapple chunks
Wash fruit and vegetables and pat dry. Since you don’t typically get a lot of juice from spinach and kale you want to juice them first and then follow up with the remaining items to push the juice from the greens through.
Stir and pour into a glass with ice. Drink right away.
Enjoy!
