On Wednesday I showed you how to make your own jalapeño infused vodka which is the perfect way to spice up Bloody Marys, but I wanted to show you another delicious way to use it! This sweet and spicy combo is guaranteed to be a hit with your guests! The jalapeño gives it just the right amount of heat without becoming overpowering!
…..
For Strawberry Syrup:
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh strawberries
(Makes 2 martinis)
For martinis:
4oz strawberry syrup
3-4oz jalapeño vodka
Juice from 1 lime
A handful of ice
Jalapeño slices and/or strawberries for garnish
To make the strawberry syrup, combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium to high heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add strawberries and simmer another 5 minutes.
When strawberries are soft, mash against the side of the pan with a wooden spoon.
Simmer for another 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Once syrup has cooled, add the appropriate amount to a cocktail shaker over ice with jalapeño vodka and lime juice. Shake well and strain into two martini glasses. Garnish and serve!
Enjoy responsibly!
