This past Christmas my cousin gifted me a beautiful mid-century cocktail shaker that came complete with classic cocktail recipes printed on the glass. One that stood out in particular was the Sidecar. Traditionally made with cognac, but we all know I’m a rum-swilling woman so I switched it up a bit and produced the Sailor Jerry Sidecar! The potent blend of rum, orange liqueur, and lemon juice makes for a sweet and sour cocktail with a smooth and sophisticated finish. Just remember that if you’re having one of these, the Sidecar is exactly where you need to be sitting!

(makes 1 cocktail)
Ingredients:
1oz Sailor Jerry Rum
1oz orange liqueur (Triple Sec, Cointreau, Curacao)
1oz fresh lemon juice
Optional:
Honey and sugar for rim
Lemon peel for garnish
Rub honey around the rim of the cocktail glass and dip into a shallow dish filled with sugar to coat the rim.
In a cocktail shaker combine ice, rum, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. Shake for 10-15 seconds and then strain into prepared cocktail glass.
Garnish and serve right away!
Enjoy responsibly!
