While I was back home visiting I got the chance to witness my parents old home being bulldozed (pictures follow!) after they had a new one built further back on their property. Before the house was torn down, they removed the windows and happened to save one of the older ones that hadn’t been replaced yet. As soon as I saw it I jumped at the chance to make a project out of it! Completing the project with my mom and using photos from their visit to Oregon last summer made it that much more special. Now they have a little piece of the old house in the new one to remember it by!

Supplies:
An old window – you can probably find them on Craigslist or see if there’s a local Habitat For Humanity store where they sell them and other donated home items
Spray paint (optional)
Sand paper
Pictures for each window pane
Transparent tape
Wood wall décor accessories (optional)
If your window is already painted then you can probably just leave it be, but if you prefer it another color, use paper and painters tape to block off the glass and spray paint the window frame. Wait until completely dry.
Sand corners and edges to your liking to give the frame a rustic “weathered” look.
Use Windex to wipe away dust and dirt on both sides of the glass. Once clean, center a photo on the back side of the window so the image is pressed against the glass. Use small pieces of tape on each corner and repeat with remaining photos.
My mother had these cute wood flower decals that she wanted to add to the frame as well, but this is obviously optional. She said you can find them at craft stores, Walmarts, and home improvement stores. We added a few to the top corners of the frame and we were done!
And of course you can’t complete the project without a helper..
