I imagine that if the Evil Queen ran into Snow White at a cocktail party she would serve up one of these instead of handing over a plain old apple in the woods. The difference with mine is that I chose vodka as my “poison” and unless you take down too many, you won’t slip into a magical sleeping spell.
They’re seductively sweet, crisp, and smooth with not a trace of poison to be tasted. The rich color comes from sparkling pomegranate juice and for extra fizz I chose to use a hard apple cider instead of regular cider or apple juice. They make for a simple and sophisticated cocktail to serve up to guests this bewitching season!
(makes 1 martini)
Ingredients:
1oz vodka, chilled
1 1/2oz sparkling pomegranate juice
1 1/2oz hard apple cider (I used Woodchuck Amber)
Pomegranate seeds, apple wedges or peels for garnish (optional)
You can also make a kid-friendly/non-alcoholic version of these by using club soda or sparkling water in lieu of vodka and use apple cider instead of hard cider.
In a standard sized martini glass add vodka followed by the sparkling pomegranate juice and hard apple cider. Give it a light stir, garnish if you desire, and serve right away.
