If you’re not really in the mood to dye eggs, try one in your cocktail instead! I’ll admit it.. I was a teensy bit scared to try a raw egg in my drink, but I read up on a lot of good tips on how to avoid any risk with consuming a raw egg and included them here in this post! If you’re still skeptical, just think about how many times you’ve consumed cookie dough or brownie batter with uncooked eggs! This fancy, but simple drink is sweet, strong, and rich in flavor and texture. Get a little adventurous for your next cocktail and give this one a shot!

Original recipe by Sailor Jerry
(makes 1 drink)
Ingredients:
2oz Sailor Jerry Rum, chilled
¾ oz maraschino cherry syrup
1 tsp simple syrup
1 egg
Ground nutmeg
Egg safety tips:
*Only purchase eggs from a refrigerated case
*Double check the sell by dates
*Check eggs for any cracks or damaged shells
*Look for pasteurized eggs – the pasteurization process is designed to kill any bacteria in the egg
*Don’t store your eggs in the refrigerator door – every time you open the door it can make the temperature fluctuate. Stick the eggs in the back of the fridge to keep them the coldest.
Add everything but the nutmeg to a cocktail shaker and shake like hell! Strain into a chilled glass, sprinkle with a bit of nutmeg, and serve.
Enjoy responsibly!
