Grilling season is in full swing, but remember that bikini season is coming up too! Keep it light, but don’t lose the flavor with these zesty, juicy, and lean turkey burgers! The spicy avocado mayo adds the perfect touch to the bursts of onion, garlic, and jalapeño!
….
Makes 6 large burger patties
Ingredients:
1lb ground turkey
1 jalapeño, finely diced (for a mild taste, remove seeds and membrane and rinse under cold water)
¼ large red onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Hamburger buns
Tomato slices, lettuce, onion, etc..
For Avocado Mayo:
1 ripe avocado, pitted and removed from skin
Juice from one lime
½ cup mayonnaise
1 Tbs hot sauce
¼ tsp kosher salt
Combine turkey, jalapeño, onion, and garlic in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix with your hands.
Form 6 large patties and set aside. Set grill on a low-medium heat setting.
When grill is ready, place patties on and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked all the way through.
While waiting on the burgers to cook, prepare the avocado mayo. In a small bowl, combine avocado and lime juice and mash with a fork.
Add mayo, hot sauce, and salt and stir to combine. Place in the refrigerator until ready to use or make ahead the night before. The avocado mayo will usually keep for a week in the refrigerator.
By now your burgers should be cooked to perfection!
Place patties on hamburger buns and load up with tomatoes, lettuce, onion, etc.. Spread a thick layer of the avocado mayo on and serve!
Enjoy!

So I must admit, from being mexican/american, I would love to try this on cindo de Mayo!
Instead of traditional foods. 🙂
