Irish Sailor Coffee
I’m going to be up front and tell you right now that there’s nothing Irish about this drink recipe, other than the fact it was adapted from a traditional Irish coffee recipe. I’m sorry! I’m just not a whiskey drinker! I am and always will be a faithful Sailor Jerry Rum girl! This one is for my fellow rum swillers!
…..
Ingredients:
1 cup of freshly brewed coffee
1oz (1 shot) of Sailor Jerry Rum
1 tsp brown sugar
A dollop of freshly whipped cream (recipe and instructions below!)
A pinch of ground cinnamon
Recipe adapted from Chow.com
For freshly whipped cream you’ll need:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 Tbs powdered sugar
Strong arm muscles!
Pour the cream into a bowl and then whisk like hell! Change directions every so often and give it a few moments to rest and thicken.
When the cream starts to thicken, add a tablespoon of powdered sugar and whisk again. Whip until the cream has stiff peaks, but be careful not to over do it or you’ll wind up with butter!
Some prefer to add another tablespoon of powdered sugar, but I feel it makes the drink too sugary, so it’s all on your taste preference.
Stir coffee, Sailor Jerry Rum, and brown sugar in a mug together. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and serve!
Green Velvet Shamrock Pancakes recipe will be posted tomorrow!
Cheers!
