Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday of the year. I typically start my decorating for it in August.. that’s how much I love it! That also means I start watching all of the classics like Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, and of course: Hocus Pocus! I channeled my inner Sanderson sister and brewed up a sweet and potent concoction I dubbed the Hocus Pocus Rum Cocktail that’s perfect for a scary movie marathon night or your upcoming Halloween bash!
Hocus Pocus Rum Cocktail
(makes 2 cocktails)
Ingredients:
Honey and sugar sprinkles for rim
4oz Sailor Jerry Rum
4oz pineapple juice
Juice from 1 lime
3-4 dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters
5-6 drops of neon green food coloring
4oz ginger ale
And don’t forget a dead man’s toe and dash of pox! š
You can use ice or chill the rum, pineapple juice, lime, and ginger ale before mixing.
Run a small amount of honey around the rims of two martini, champagne, or wine glasses. Pour out a tablespoon or so of the sugar sprinkles into a shallow dish. Lightly press the rims of the glasses into the sprinkles to completely coat.
In a cocktail shaker combine rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, bitters, and food coloring. Give it a few good shakes and strain into prepared glasses. Top with ginger ale and serve!
Enjoy responsibly!
