Happy Friday everyone! Portland had a bit of a heat wave over the past few days, so I thought this would be the perfect timing to share this post!
If you ever purchase fresh herbs from the store or you grow your own at home, you might find that you don’t go through them before they start to go bad! I’ve seen many people freeze theirs in ice and then add to a chicken or vegetable stock when they need to use them, which I’ve done in the past, but I loved the way they looked so I decided to use mine another way. They not only create a simple and creative garnish, but they subtly infuse you drink as well!

You’ll need:
Ice cube trays
Water
Fresh herbs – basil, mint, rosemary, thyme, lavender, cilantro, etc..
Make sure your herbs are rinsed and broken into small sprigs or pieces. If the leaves are small enough like mint, basil, or cilantro, you can leave them whole.
Fill your ice cube trays with water, add the herbs, and freeze.
When ready to use, pop them out, and add to a glass of water, ice tea, or cocktails!
I’ll be sharing the recipes for a few of the cocktails pictured here over the next few weeks! 🙂
