Hangover Juice
I used to call hangover juice a Bloody Mary, but when I decided to drink more rum than a pirate last week.. I needed something different! Now, at first glance this juice looks like something you would throw up when you’re hungover.. I was skeptical myself, but it’s light and citrus-y and I felt worlds better after drinking it! Whether you’re feeling a cold coming on or you’re suffering from the ‘brown bottle flu,’ this refreshing juice is packed full of goodness (yes I did my homework AND included it in the post!) that will get you back on the road to recovery!
…..
(Makes 2 glasses)
Ingredients:
1 large leaf of kale
1 large cucumber
1 large celery stick
1 green apple
1 lemon
1 medium sized vine ripe tomato
1 large carrot
Half of one red bell pepper
(See below for all the health benefits!)
Rinse all of your fruits and veggies and prepare them according to your juicer’s instructions. Juice into a large glass or pitcher, stir, and pour over ice.
Drink up!
Cheers to good health and no more hangovers!
Health Benefits
Kale is a great detox food – It’s filled with fiber and sulfur, both are great for detoxifying your body and keeping your liver healthy.
Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish many essential nutrients, reducing the intensity of both hangover and headache.
Celery – The potassium and sodium in celery juice are huge body fluid regulators that stimulate… well.. to put it bluntly, they make you pee! Haha to help rid your body of excess fluid and bloat from drinking.
Green apples are packed full of benefits! Improves appetite, boosts your energy, and helps in preventing liver problems to name a few!
Lemon juice is in nearly every detox drink I find out on the web! They cleanse your kidneys and digestive system to help your body remove toxins!
Tomatoes help regulate blood sugar, which may be a bit out of whack from downing sugary cocktails the night before!
Carrots have a ton of Vitamin A which assists the liver in flushing out the toxins AND gives you healthy glowing skin!
Red bell peppers, like all of these other fruits and veggies, are packing with vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants!

When I was your age all I did was eat some saltines to calm my stomach. Your cure looks so much better.

If one does not have a juicer, can you use something else to do the same job?

You could probably make a smoothie version and get some of the same benefits. I’ll put one together and post soon!
