Halloween Spider Web Canvas Wall Décor
Ok, so I wasn’t supposed to post this until next week but I just can’t wait! It’s September 1st and to me that signifies the start of fall and all things Halloween! I had a lot of fun making this AND it’s easy to do!
…..
Supplies:
Stretched Canvas (I used a 12×12 that you can find at Blick Art Materials)
Wooden letters – found at most craft stores
At least a yard of spider web fabric depending on the size of your canvas
-I made this at the beginning of last month before anyone spider web fabric had come out so I made due with a tablecloth that I found at Michael’s craft store!
Acrylic paints
Hot glue gun
Paint brush or foam brush
Optional items:
Fake spiders, skeleton hands, etc
Start by painting your letters so you can work on the rest of the project while they’re drying. I gave the first coat about 20 minutes to try and then painted a second coat.
Place spider web fabric over your canvas and giving a few extra inches on all sides, cut out a piece to stretch over the canvas. Flip canvas over, keeping fabric underneath, and pull fabric tight over one end. Place a small line of hot glue on the backside of the canvas edge and place fabric down. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on opposite side and make sure fabric stays tight. Continue until all edges are glued down.
Once you’re finished, flip your canvas back over. Cover the back of one of your letters with hot glue and place down on the canvas. Hold for 30 seconds then repeat with remaining letters.
If you have any extra items, hot glue them in place as well.
You’re finished! Hang it up and be proud of yourself every time someone asks where you picked up your cute new Halloween decoration! : )
