If you remember my Behind The Scenes post, than you’re already familiar with my friend and photographer, Lindsey Rickert. She also took my banner and profile image for the blog!
This summer Lindsey will be embarking on a journey across the United States to photograph as many drive-in theaters as she can. The images will be compiled into a coffee table book that is meant to capture the slow decay of these theaters. In the 1950’s there were over 4,000 theaters which has now declined to less than 400 as we continue to move forward in the digital world. Lindsey is looking to create images that intertwine our past, present, and future with this American staple.

She’ll be needing models and offering photoshoots while she’s on the road to fund the trip, but she’s created a Kickstarter for her project in advance to get her started on this amazing trip. She’s added tons of incentives for the donation like postcards from the road, prints from the drive-ins, photoshoots, and acknowledgements in the resulting book! If you’re unfamiliar with Kickstarter, a person has to reach their goal or the project doesn’t get funded at all. She’s currently raised about $2,000, but still has a few weeks to go to reach her goal of $5,000. Let’s support the arts and help her make this happen!
