What a whirlwind these last few days have been! My parents are here in Portland visiting and it’s been an amazing time already! We toured the International Rose Test Garden and Pittock Mansion on Sunday, which left me wishing I could move in there! They even had a huge painting of a white cat!! It’s just meant to be. 😉
Monday we celebrated my step-dad’s birthday with Maple Bacon S’more Cupcakes, breakfast, and Bloody Mary’s! We took them to Arcadia Beach and since my mom LOVES the ocean she dragged me halfway in with her to swim.. brrrrr!
Yesterday was the big day though! My parents weren’t legally married yet, but didn’t want a huge fuss of a typical wedding. They mentioned a long time ago that they would like to be married at the waterfalls in The Columbia River Gorge. A few weeks ago I started looking for ordained ministers to meet us there and perform a surprise ceremony, but I decided.. why not do it myself?! A few clicks on the web later and I became ordained! I handed them my certificate and launched right into the ceremony on the bridge at Latourell Falls. My fiancé and a nice couple I had pulled over were the witnesses and we celebrated afterward at Trader Vic’s.
The look on my step-dad’s face is priceless! Haha
Tattooed Martha just reached 1700 likes on the Facebook fan page, so I wanted to say thank you to everyone who comments, shares, repins, or tweets my posts and recipes! You’re all wonderful and supportive and fuel my fire every day!
Enjoy the rest of the week!
