Bacon Chunk and Chocolate Chip Cookies
How do you make chocolate chip cookies even better? Add bacon! It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty. The hardest part of this recipe is trying not to eat the cookie dough before you bake the cookies!
…..
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp hot water
½ tsp salt
1 ½ cups chocolate chips
5 strips of bacon, cooked and finely chopped
—–
Place strips of bacon in a baking pan or cookie sheet and lightly sprinkle brown sugar on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees. While waiting for bacon to cook you can prep the cookie dough. Once the bacon is done cooking, drain bacon grease, and let cool for 10 minutes. Once cooled down enough to touch, chop into small chunks.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
(1.) In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add to batter. (2.) Slowly stir in flour and salt until completely mixed. (3.) Next add bacon chunks and chocolate chips and (4.) stir until ingredients are well blended.
Drop large spoonful’s of cookie dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet (I use parchment paper for easy clean up) and bake for about 10 minutes or until edges start to turn light brown. Place cookies on a drying rack to cool for 10 minutes.
Enjoy!
