If you’ve ever wondered what Autumn tastes like in drink form.. this is it! My fiancé is a bourbon man so I wanted to make a drink specifically for him. Not only did he love it, but proclaimed he wanted to drink that all season long. I tried a few sips myself and for not being a fan of bourbon, I found that I really enjoyed it too!
…..
(makes one drink)
Ingredients:
1 honey crisp apple, juiced (or use 3oz apple juice)
2oz bourbon (his favorite is Buffalo Trace)
2 Tbs honey
¼ tsp cinnamon
Apple slices or cinnamon stick for garnish
Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan and heat on high. Once mixture comes to a simmer remove from heat.
Pour into a mug and let cool slightly. If you’re using a freshly juiced apple you’ll see that the mixture will separate a little bit, so just give it a good stir before serving. Garnish and serve warm.
Enjoy responsibly!

Replace bourbon with rum and don’t heat and that sounds like the drink for me for spring! Would it not be better to add the bourbon after the heating process?

Since we’re not cooking the bourbon out, it can be added beforehand, but those that like their cocktails a bit stronger, I recommend adding another shot after heating it up! 😉
